I am giving you permission!

Has anyone ever told you that? Have you every been granted the freedom to just create whatever you wanted to?

Take a moment for yourself. Close your eyes and just let your mind wander and roll to the ends of your imagination. No barriers, no stop signs or fences, nothing but endless free space just for you.

Now open your eyes. Remove the blind fold of what society expects to see from you. Open your eyes to the real world, one where you live your own life without the influence and judgement of others.

Let me be the first to welcome you. Even if there is no one else who believes or supports you or thinks you can do it. I want you to know that i am here, I believe everyone has the power and option to do whatever it is that fires up their heart.

Looking at this picture and reading about the meaning was amazing for me. My key take away was the idea of "I don't have to have everything figured out right now."

Why is it that this idea and concept makes so much sense, but yet i haven't thought about it. And here i am thinking in circles and struggling with trying to have my entire life figured out and in order right now.

Now as i look at this beautiful angel. A kind face and wide open arms, letting me know its ok. I am on a journey and there is still a long unknown path ahead of me.

Keep pushing forward and keep learning. Every day will be a new experience with new challenges. Just know that you have support as you push through and overcome them.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to save or reproduce your Sculptures?

Creation is something that has always been very fun and interesting to me. I love creating my own characters and creatures and being able to really bring them to life. But what happens after i make it? Where do i go from there?

I have created a new video to help you mold and cast your new piece of art that you have created. Now i do have a few time lapses and videos on my Youtube channel that show you the process but what i created here is very in depth. I go on to describe the entire process of making a silicone mold, doing a plaster jacket, then rotocasting in resin and backing with foam. I do this for 2 pieces so that i could share the differences for molding a wall plaque and for doing a character bust statue. A total of 5 videos that run approx 2 hrs 45 min

Highlighting using rebound 25 silicone, comparing that to mold star 20T, the brush on method, casting with smooth cast 325 as well as some tips along the way.

Creating Hope!

Have you ever looked into the eyes of a child? A child who takes on the challenge every morning to survive. To defeat the odds and live another day. That Sparkle you see is Hope!

Hope was created based on that feeling, that fighting drive and the purpose is to help those in need. So in that spirit i created this piece and will be donating 25% of the proceeds to acres of love, The ingane family forever home. A charity to build a home in africa for children with special need and need medical attention.

Inspiration from Finding neverland

I watched Finding Never-land the other day and was inspired by the idea and message. 

What happens when you let your imagination run wild? True and free without a leash. You are no longer tied down by the rules of the real world, Your dreams are not contained in a box. You don't allow yourself to be held back by anything.

When we follow our passions and let our imaginations run wild we create our own fresh new path with mysterious wonders around every corner. Nothing but fresh clean air to fuel our travels. This is the path that was meant for us, an open Journey for us to discover. Unfortunately over the years fear and society has tried to pull the plug on this dream for most of us. They have injected the feeling of safety within a corporate position. The sense of norm you feel as one of the sheep in the herd. And then when we fall victim we get trapped, captured by society and the normal.

I don't want to be ordinary, I want to be extraordinary. I want to let my imagination run wild and be free. 

The possibilities are endless and should not be contained or held back.

This is a bulls eye or a target right?

Do you you know how to win?

Of course we have learned the rules and know where we need to hit and we practice our aim over and over again until we hit it.

But what if it wasn't that simple? What if it was your turn but you were not sure what to do or where to throw. Would you ask for help?

This is something that most of us struggle with on a  daily basis. In our lives and especially in the lives of creatives we are not really sure about what our targets are. We are trying to build something without truly finding our ground and thinking about the path to the finish and where we want to be a few years down the road. Whats even more amazing is that if we are playing a game we will ask for the instructions and help, but in life we feel we need to run alone. 

Now i know we have to learn a lot on our own but there is no shame in learning and running with a pack, friends can help push us farther that we ever dreamed for ourselves. We go to teachers and mentors for learning techniques and specifics but most of us don't look for mentors to guide us in our lives.

Really think about what you want for yourself and where you would like to go. Then push for it. 

A target is easier to hit when you know where your aiming!

Don't let the struggles get you down.

I am a human being. I have accepted that i will fall off or get down on myself for certain things. I have even been told that i am too hard on myself, but i guess i am just shooting for my very best. Anyway i have been overwhelmed the past couple months with some things that have been going on , both personal and with my brand. I'm trying to remember that we all need a little help sometimes to pick us back up. 

I am not going to run life alone but in the company of those that pick me up and push me to be me.

So for everyone out there that is feeling down or going through a rough patch i want you to read this. Remember that you are not alone and at those times when we are in the rough of things is the moments before we spring into an amazing opportunity. Pick yourself up and let others in to support you.

"It is not the fall that defines us. It is how we rise after we have fallen."

What do your mornings look like?

Whats your favorite morning routine?

Do you have a special system that gets you going?

Share it below i would love to hear your thoughts and tips on what gets you going every morning.

For me it starts the night before. I do my best to have and accomplished night. If you go to bed satisfied then you will wake up determined to take on the new day. After i get up i have to my shower. The hot water gets my blood pumping and my brain wakes up. The steam ignites my ideas and they start spreading like crazy and by the time i get out i have a full head of notes to jot down. 

On my Gym mornings i just get up and groomed and then just go. Putting on my headphones tunes ou t the world and i just start moving. About an hour of exercise gets the endorphin's cranking and i'm wide awake. Then my shower gets those ideas flowing and i'm ready to start my day.

Final thing after my shower or before the gym is my amino energy in juice or Gatorade or a fruit smoothie. I dont drink coffee or like the taste of it so this little concoction is my morning go to and it gets my alert and prepped and energized for a full new day.

A special plan and a good morning sets the pace for a very good day, unfortunately missing or forgetting a small aspect has potential to throw me off or give me that feeling of i'm forgetting something.

We all have our own systems that works for us. What works for you?

Stop Waiting! Just jump in and start!

Do you feel like your Tied up by your mind?

Are you waiting for that magical moment where everything goes right? Where the stars align and the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and just fit together perfectly?

Don't wait! Just jump in and do it. Go after that dream!

So what if everything isn't together or just right yet. So what if your not feeling like doing it now. You might think there's something going on or pulling you back but its mostly in your mind. We all have to learn to play hurt. Your never going to wake up and be in a perfect place and if you are waiting for it you could miss out on so many golden opportunities. 

When you put yourself into action and you just start doing all of the ideas just start to rush you and a snowball effect occurs when you least expect it. The action opens up your mind and allows for amazing thoughts to be created.

Look at one of your favorite athletes, when they get a bruise or a sprain do they call out or not show up? Think about it.

Are you Making Excuses!

Reimagine Conference Recap 

I just had an amazing weekend of learning. A total drink off the fire hose and im still just trying to process it all. A weekend with friends and family sharing life and enjoying the experience.

Still trying to take it all in and trying to make sure the information i learned is put to use and not just staying locked in the back of my mind rotting. All the speakers were inspiring and uplifting. Open and honest about themselves and their own personal lives.

I have learned a lot and i will be sharing and going through my notes in the weeks to come.

Inspiring images from Lisa Petz photography and Raw illusions studios

Every so often i come across work that just truly stands out and amazes me!

Some are from friends, some are from groups or pages i follow, and sometimes i just get lucky and see a random image that captures my attention. 

Take a look at these following images! How do they make you feel? Can you feel the emotions in the characters? Can you feel a sense of who they are?

I Can!

Every time i look at these images i feel a sense of a story hidden behind the picture. Something about them feels like there is more to the images then what is in the foreground in plain sight. Something magical hidden behind the scenes. The stories that could be create with each one of them really inspires me and my imagination. Just staring at them a mystery forms in my mind as it try's to juggle together the pieces of the story. Take a look at all the subtle poses and angles that are captured.

Do you work for 8 hours?

Do you work for a full 8 hours or are you just filling up 8 hours?

Most creatives claim that they don't have enough time, but do they use the time they have wisely? Are they setting their own deadlines? Are they weeding out the unneccesary tasks of the day?

Most will answer NO. Think about a full 8 hour shift at your day job. Your filled up and busy the entire time. You think your slammed right? But then something happens and an emergency comes up and you are going to have to leave 2 hours early. You know this ahead of time so you plan for it and you don't rush but you try to get everything done. This is when something amazing happens and somehow everything you had planned for your 8 hour day get completed in 6 hours.

Ever have this happen before?

We tend to overthink things and all the thinking takes up so much time. We imagine our tasks will take much longer then they actually do and your days get filled with fluff. We end up thinking so much that the thoughts actually take longer than the action.

Take some time and track how long tasks really take you. Create deadlines for yourself so you have an endgame to work towards. Stop thinking about the task and just jump in! and remember this works for all areas of your life not just your work or your art. 

I personally spent at least 5-10 minutes thinking about and planning when i was going to go online to fill out a tax form. I went on the site and wasn't sure where to go so i told myself i would check back later. Then i decided i needed to get it done, i went in thinking i will just figure it out and get it over with. The entire process of figuring it out and finding the page took maybe 3 minutes.

Your time is important, Use it wisely.

Waiting for some inspiration to strike?

Are you waiting for that spark of inspiration to strike?
Are you waiting for this magical dust to sprinkle over your life?
Are you waiting for the planets to align so that you can be surrounded by greatness?

     It wont happen if you are just sitting around and just dreaming! Just thinking about it over and over again and trying to re analyze the idea and situation.

     Don't wait for inspiration to come, seek it out and acquire it! Inspiration comes when you do, not when you think about it. Get energized and excited by doing and creating.

     Get started and use that fuel to not only capture those amazing ideas, but to also execute on those amazing projects and bring them to completion.

     My ideas come to me when i work. I keep my notepad handy as a net so nothing gets past and escapes me. Get excited by your creations and keep pushing forward, but most of all just Do!

I have been infested by Demons!!!

     Have you ever had a demon infest your soul? 

An inner monster that has clamped onto your heart and has even multiplied! Its own little spawns start running to every corner.

A creature you try to fight but some how it keeps coming back.

     One of my biggest enemies over the years has been procrastination. This thing has pulled my productivity to a halt. Have you ever tried to deal with your own procrastination demon? They are tricky little  beasts! I have captured my own, I put my focus on him and worried so much. I put myself in a state of hurting until i finally caught him. With my hands holding him down tight.

I thought I won!

     Then as that evil little thing looked at me he looked directly into my eyes, he cracked an evil smile and even let out a little chuckle.

And that was when it hit me! 

In my own pursuit of destroying my procrastination i focused so much on not procrastinating that i procrastinated and lost sight of my life.

Round 1 goes to Procrastination

     This is but a learning experience on my timeline of life. Just a single battle in the war of life. I have learned that everyone has their own little variations and masked creatures and versions of procrastination, they are impossible to completely destroy!

     This is a daily battle and will always be. Something we must learn to stand up to and hold our ground.

Keep Pushing and don't let him get the best of you. You have a full team of support, all you have to do is call on them!

How strong is your love for the monster?

     In this world there are none of us that are truly perfect!

      Each of us is our very own creature created and formed from our experiences. Different pieces are stitched on  and glued as we grow and learn new things. This is also true when you find that special partner, that one you feel is your other half and make you whole. Nobody is perfect and if they somehow seem to be you should run. These beings are just burying their ticking time bombs deep within their soul, hoping that it doesn't explode. A leaking toxin that is slowly infecting their heart.

      Real partners will love and embrace your scars. There can be wounds and deep cuts, even a few infected areas, but the bonds and stitches between you will hold strong. Keeping those areas stable and even working magic on those incompatible pieces. The stitches that hold you together should be stronger then all the troubles in the world.

Keep embracing and loving each others scars and evils. We all have an ugly side! Are you willing to accept it in each other? And are you able to let it out and shine without being judged and ridiculed?

Each of us has our own monster within!
Accept It! Embrace It! and love the monster in others!

Some inspiration, unfiltered and let go

      It is OK to be human. I have been given a gift and this gift must be shared with the world. Are you going to be selfish and keep it to yourself? Or let the evil in to distract you from where you are suppose to be going? Are you willing to let this failure derail you from your true goals and passions?

Or are you going to use it as a spring board to catapult farther. Jump into the future with big beautiful wings that will carry me for generations. So strong and unfaltering that even the most powerful demons cannot touch me. A force so strong it creates thunder and shock-waves across the earth. An amazing event and movement that touches the hurts of this world. I will do better.

I will become the best person i can
I will not waste my god given talents
I will not be temped by demons
I will not be consumed by fear
I will hold my head up tall and stand my ground
I will become the person i was meant to
I will chase my dreams and i will keep fighting
I will become ME!
and i will NEVER allow myself to be someone else!

Each of you is an original that cannot be duplicated. Don't settle for anything less than that!

My Own Personal Frankenstein

     It is OK. 

I am a broken man. 

A group of pieces that have been stitched together to create a whole.

 A creature that has been built. 

Small bits of flesh added here and larger bones added there.

Is this a disgusting figure?

No this is a beautiful creature! 

This is simply me deciding who I am currently. Taking the sections of the bone that are poisoned and replacing them with stronger and more healthy bones. I do not want to be a fake or a show off by replacing with a platinum or silver bone. I have no interest in becoming something i am not. i will not be a person that i was not created to be.

     I will constantly be learning new things and i will be on the look out to better myself on a daily basis. Every new skill or learning experience will be a new section that i will add to myself. A new section to stitch on and connect. Every new day will be a new day for me. I will keep my head to the clouds and my eyes past the stars. The universe will show me the way as well as enlighten me as i continue to grow. I will continue on my own journey and creating my own path. I wont follow in footsteps but rather create my own and become my own leader.

Keep pushing forward and always strive to be yourself and the best version of yourself!

On the Path to Consistency

      I am on my own personal journey, a path towards improving myself and becoming the best i can be. One of the biggest things i am working towards at this moment in my brand is consistency. I can get things done when they need to be completed, but for some reason after i get things set up and planned i run into problems. I will do the first 1 or 2 and then the trail seems to get blurry and go cold before it disappears all together. Now personally my biggest issue is marketing and emails, but people struggle with this in all areas of life. My problem mixed with my very analytical mindset i have developed my own personal system and schedule. I have set up my time to be structured and  a set of checklist to be crossed off.

Here is how most people think their road to success looks like ...

a clear path set in black and white with a clear destination in sight.

Then they get overwhelmed when the actual road they need to follow looks like this ...

 

OR This ...

Filled with curvy windy roads, big hills, small bumps you don't see until you hit them, and sometimes even fog and unflattering scenery.

     Most get lost immediately and abandon their dreams. However the biggest and most important puzzle pieces i feel everyone needs to utilize is the mindset to accept change and to embrace it. FACE IT! sometimes this thing called "Life" happens. You have the choice of being hard and blaming yourself for not getting something done or forgiving yourself. When these things come up be flexible and just switch the task to a new day or time frame, maybe stay later. The key is to acknowledge that you are in training and that you are working towards perfection.

I will constantly be learning and incorporating new things. My system will change over and over again. Take some time and appreciate you. Your own road to growth and sometimes you have to make a few pit stops before you get to your destination.

How to sculpt Faster!!!

"How can i get faster?"

a question i have heard quite a few times

"WOW you sculpted that in only a few hours!"

"Yes i did, but i also practiced for countless hours over the course of 10 years to be where i'm at."

I love it when some kids come up and ask how to sculpt faster. Like there is a special trick or pill to unlock the trick. Like maybe i spend extra hours at the gym so that i can move my arms faster!

NO, NO, NO

I don't work quicker than i use to because my arms have somehow mutated and are now super-humanly faster then they use to be. I just learned my anatomy and forms so that i place the clay in the place it needs to be and i don't have to keep re working it. I have done the process over and over again so that its second nature and it helps to push the designs quicker. 

There is no magical tool or key to unlock speed and bypass hard work.

Stop thinking about it, START DOING!

Escaping my mind

Trying to Escape my Mind

Have you ever tried to escape your own Mind?

It is a terrifying nightmare all on its own.

With so many inhabitants and voices coming from every direction. A creepy labyrinth, really dark and chilly. With every corner watched by a guard .... some type of ugly creature that growls every time i sneak a peak in his direction. I try to be silent. I try to be still. But every time i come close something new interferes, a new thought emerges and it clouds my judgement.

There it goes, even as i write this my mind is running in some sort of crooked circle. A few new images and stories have passed by and have tried to steal my attention.

I have chosen that i will not give up, 

I will not give in. 

This is my time and i wont let anything get in my way. This is the goal, the game plan, the task. I know and understand that this will take some time but i need to take control. Stop zoning out, don't let your eyes close. Dig your feet into the ground and as that trigger is pulled just take off, shoot for the finish line. 

Just make sure that finish line is your own and not someone else's. 

Get out of your head and be you.

Why you should shoot for that Fail!

   

     So here are some random words to inspire you and help push you to never give up. Sometimes its good to just randomly open up and unload. Just let your thoughts go and let your emotions out. Forget about the world, let your surroundings disappear as you drift into the darkness. Enter the open and free solace that lies deep within your mind. Explore this vastness where anything is possible.

    When i visit this place and i take a look in this mirror to face my most feared enemy, what do i see?
Do i see fear?
Do i see disappointment?
or do i see achievements?
Do i look down on myself?
Why is it that i seem to focus on  all of my  pitfalls and downfalls?
Why does that overpower my achievements?
Then i think and remember that i am only human. It is OK to feel down and it is alright to see my mistakes. Remember that every great in history has made more mistakes than most could even imagine. The key is the determination and the perseverance to push through. To keep your head up and to keep your eyes forward, your mind clear and your dreams soaring past the moon.

    The brightest minds in the past never gave up. can i stand up to that? Am i
willing to take the challenge and step up to the plate? Every morning i will wake up determined to try and prepared and ready to Fail. This is a choice that i can make and a choice that i have full control over.

How we live and react to what is given to us will determine the person we become. What will you do with the time you are given? and how will you react and accept failure?

     Here is some new interesting artwork i came across. A creative by the name of Ginger Jess. She has a collection of bright and colorful artworks, pieces that not only stood out with a great setup, but also have an interesting concept and story line hidden within each piece of artwork. Little kittens or story pieces hidden deep within the grass and forest for those who are willing to look hard enough.

Professor X is SCREAMING at me Again!!!

     Oh my god, these voices are coming after me again! They keep yelling at me! Screaming inside my mind at all of my thoughts! Trying to tear me down.

     Professor X has become very angry and with his powers focused in on me I feel doomed. In a horrible position with a powerless feeling. A war of monsters has decided to adopt my brain as a battlefield for their new fight. Being beaten and trampled on as my own thoughts and ideas run in circles trying to find a way out, but every exit has been blocked.

What do i do? 

Can i find a way to stand up against this attack? 

I must fight back, but how?

     There it is! I have found it! My own little Magneto helmet. Now i have finally discovered my own little secret weapon that works for me. I stare the Professor in the eyes as i use all my strength and urge to pick up my headphones. Without blinking and keeping my eyes locked on his I slide them on.

Wow its amazing! The voices begin to disappear, like a wall wiping them away as i put them on.

Now I'm Free!

     Of course the tunes i put on also play a big role, but just the act of and feeling of the headphones does it for me. I have to use the big over the ear ones, but I love them. Putting them on feels like i am cutting out the entire world. I'm all alone in my own little world, free to move about as i please. No voices screaming at me and no distractions. My own little slice of heaven formed into a dream in a peaceful place all my own.

This is now my time. My time to execute my craft and dive into my passions.

Is my craft fulfilling to me?

yes i believe it is.
I get to create my own characters.
I get to share my expressions through my work.
I get to help and inspire others and i get to watch them light up.
I get to witness the miracle of that sparkle that waves across the faces of others. A light that captures the true beauty on their face that is very rarely seen. That true beauty beneath the skin, the hidden tucked away person that rarely comes to the surface.
I get to create a story that will inspire someone else's personal story.

I have been given a gift and i am giving myself permission to share it with the world around me.
