Here is the finished sculpture of my new mask, The Hunter. Made the mold last night and have my first casting drying . Now i have to work on a paint scheme for this guy

Two new sketches

Here are two new sketches i completed this weekend that i would like to turn into airbrush paintings.

Pumpkinhead finished

Here is the finished piece. He is cast in thick latex with a display stand and supports that support the head and shoulders. The base is made with bloodstained moss and twigs to give a scary pumpkinpatch look.

Freakshow mini-bust

Here comes the Freakshow. A deformed creature with his own sadness trying to survive. This is my new mini-bust i am currently working on. The front of the base has been fixed so i can attach a separate plaque. This way i can insure the quality of the lettering. I need to do a little more detailing on the head then i will be molding this boy.

Here is a new mask i am working on. This is a clown jester i have developed through some sketches. I have the basic form finished and have started adding skin texture.

Lucifer has risen and is now available

Here is my new Lucifer mask. This is the paint test or prototype. He is cast in high quality thick latex and hand painted. Currently availabe on my site. www.alter-ego-dezines.com

Chiller Theatre on Halloween

On halloween i drove up to new jersey to visit the chiller theatre horror convention. This is one of the biggest shows that has been around for years. This year it was packed. There were a lot of great vendors and some really interesting work. I did not have a table for this one, but will try to do it next year. Here are some pics it took while at the con.

Ric Frane is another artist that has amazing works. He paints with oils and is located in wilmington, DE. Not to far from me. He owns his own frame shop and has a gallery.

Ken Kelly was also there with many amazing works.

Painting a halloween mask

Here is a new alien mask i finished painting. I took some pictures along the way.

Here is the finished sculpt of my alien character.

My first step was a base coat of blue, then i did a noodling pattern with a darker blue shown above.

Next i did the same with a violet. With every new color i use i do the noodling and then go in and add shadows and more depth to the features.

The next step is to do a tight noodling of white over the entire mask. (Sorry i forgot to get a detail shot after i painted this step.)

Below are finished images of my new mask. The last steps are to take the original blue color used as a base coat and put a thin layer over my white layer to give transparency to the skin.
I put a clear coat over the whole mask, then for painting the eyes i did a base of yellow and used a brush to add the red veining to the sides. I airbrushed the pupils black and outlined with white. The final touch was to add five minute epoxy to the eyes, nose, and mouth. The five minute epoxy will make the eyes look wet and alive.
